Clearly Identify the danger days for the stability of your mind: Ashtakavarga

Michael burnsall crop bestDo you have regular mood swings, sadnesses, irritability or emotional highs and lows? Does your mind get gripped by obsessive thinking?

I would like to draw your attention to a very accurate way in which you can become aware of good days and danger days each month for the stability of your Mind and emotions.

This post tells you about a reliable way to identify the days that will be favourable to you for the balance of your mind, and, by contrast, the method tells you the days that could lead to mood swings, depressions and lack of confidence.

The method I am describing here is called Ashtakavarga, and it comes from the sure and powerful ancient astrology of India: Vedic Astrology.

The method can be used to map the effect of each sign the Moon passes through in the month it takes to complete its orbit: i.e. two and a half days per sign.

So this brings me to the invaluable tool for knowing how the daily position of the Moon will affect your Mind and your emotions: Ashtakavarga. Or more exactly: your Moon Ashtakavarga chart:

Here is my  personal Moon Ashtakavarga chart:
Michael Conneely Ashtakavarga Moon chart

From the above chart you can clearly and easily see that during the two and a half days each month when the Moon is transiting through the Vedic sign of Scorpio (sign 8 in the above chart) my mind and emotions will be unsupported by the other planets as the score in Vedic Scorpio is only 2, and I could expect to feel very churned up.

However, from the above chart you can also see that when the Moon is transiting through the next sign, the Vedic sign of Sagittarius (sign 9 in the above chart) my mind and emotions will be buoyant and optimistic and creative. 8 is the best score!

By the way, it’s a very real danger point for your mind and emotions if you have a score of 1 for any of your Vedic signs, or even worse than that a score of zero in any Vedic sign in your personal Moon Ashtakavarga chart.

I was discussing this with a group of students in Latvia last night. There was one student who was so positive and full of leadership and with so many of her plans coming to fruition.

However, when we looked at her personal Moon ashtakavarga chart, I saw that the score for Leo in her chart was only one point. Here is her Moon Ashtakavarga chart:
Judite Ashtakavarga Moon chart

This means that for the two and a half days each month when the Moon is in the Vedic sign of Leo, her mind and emotions could be very unsupported and fluctuating with mood swings.

Her response to this was interesting. She said that she had stabilised her mind through doing yoga. One notices the swings, the highs and lows, but one stabilises: one does not give into them.

Shiva NatarajaSimilarly, my partner Maggie and I do 108 mantras to Lord Shiva before a Shiva Nataraja murti (statue) each morning.  I definitely find this acts as a barometer as to what state my mind is in that day. It is also really good for stabilising my mind. It is also really good for putting me in touch with my body: noticing what tensions are held in my body, putting me back to a more healed and empowered state of body and mind.

But I don’t just use Vedic Astrology. Because we are all psychological beings in the modern west, I also use western psychodynamic and evolutionary western astrology in all my worldwide readings and courses.

But you do need Vedic Astrology, not least because it is so accurate; not least because it is rooted in your incarnational life purpose.

Because we are all born to an incarnational life purpose and because we all have to spiritually learn (or not) by having to deal with the unfolding of that destiny, I also use the utter vastness and declarative sureness of Vedic Astrology.
I believe the very best results come from working with the two: both western and Vedic astrology.

Now, the Ashtakavarga is a powerful, accurate and unique way in Vedic Astrology of working out how each of the twelve Vedic signs will respond to the transit of the Moon (and any planet) through that sign. And the position of the Moon in the heavens is a major determinant of how we feel emotionally that day.

Ashtakavarga also has other purposes by the way, for example in working out the compatibility of a couple. It can also be assessed for assessing how severe or otherwise the effects of transits of planets will be on you.

In Ashtakavarga, each of the twelve Vedic signs in your Vedic birth chart is assigned a number of positive and negative points (Rekhas are positive points; bindus are negative points).

These points are based on the influence of the ascendant (lagna) and the seven main Vedic planets on each of the twelve Vedic signs in your Vedic birth chart.

So, based on their individual positions in the individual’s Vedic birth chart, the lagna and the seven main Vedic planets, each contribute a certain clearly definable and very different positive and negative influence to each of the twelve signs of your horoscope.

Now my point is that the position of the Moon in the heavens each day – which sign it is in – has an enormous influence on our state of mind that day.

The sign the Moon is in is not the only influence of course. For example, there’s the positon of the other planets in the heavens as well: they too can also affect our mind and emotions.

For example, at the time of writing this post, Mars and Saturn are transiting together in the heavens at the moment through the Vedic sign of Scorpio.

Vedic Scorpio never an easy sign for the Moon (because the Moon is Fallen and in a potential tumult in Scorpio).

So this means that when the Moon goes through Vedic Scorpio for two and a half days each month, we are all likely to feel less mentally and emotionally ‘together’.

And in the week when I wrote this post it was all worse than usual:
Last Friday there was an Eclipse and I saw one case of aggressive and hostile manipulative ranting and incredible denial. Then the Moon passed Mars into Vedic Scorpio. Then the Moon then went past Retrograde Saturn in Vedic Scorpio in the heavens, thirdly the moon then crossed through what’s called the Gandanta zone.

What is the Gandanta zone? Well, there are three Gandanta Zones in the Vedic birth chart. Each is at the transition point from a water sign to a fire sign. They are quite dangerous points in the heavens. I was actually born with my Moon in the Pisces Gandanta Zone, and to have your natal Moon in a Gandanta Zone means that mother will not be there for you and your childhood will be wrecked and mother issues are like a fated knot: the more you try to sort them out, the more the knot tightens. Other planets in Gandanta you can do more about.

So as the Moon went past currently retrograde Mars in Vedic Scorpio I noticed a lot of people were being irritable, and as it past currently retrograde Saturn in Vedic Scorpio I noticed a lot of sadness, and as it went through the Gandanta zone at the end of Scorpio, I felt incredible sadness and other people around me felt this too.

It all depends on your individual chart and your level of awareness how you will experience these energies.

By the way, if you have an ‘unsupported Moon’, in other words the Moon in your Vedic birth chart does not have other planets near it (Rahu and Ketu, the Nodes don’t count in this by the way as they do NOT support the Moon), you will have problems of emotional stability and do need to develop ways of stabilising your mind and emotions.

Donald Trump Astrology Post 2

Michael burnsall crop bestI have decided to put out a number of posts about the astrology of Donald Trump: what his western and Vedic astrology reveals about his nature, and what his astrology reveals about his chances of winning the US Presidential Election. See here for the First Donald Trump Post

In this second post, I look at what is revealed by the fact that he has Kal Sarpa Yoga in his Vedic astrology birth chart.

Vedic Astrology is awesomely accurate and sure in its declaration in the hands of a trained astrologer, but I do feel it is actually incomplete unless the psychodynamic astrology of the client is also added in and fully taken into account. Modern westerners are, after all, intensely psychological beings.

It centrally stands out that Donald Trump has Kal Sarpa Yoga in his Vedic birth chart.

In other words, all his Vedic planets are enclosed between the axis of the Nodes of the Moon.

In Vedic Astrology, the North node is called Rahu and the South node is called Ketu, and the position of the Nodes of the Moon in our Vedic birth chart is actually the key to the reading of our incarnational life purpose.

Incidentally, just to say that Donald Trump’s Moon and Sun are technically just a fraction outside the Nodal Axis it would be wrong and legalistic to say he has not got Kal Sarpa Yoga. I have found this this is Kal Sarpa Yoga, and I have found that even where planets are outside but in the same sign as the Nodes, then the Kal Sarpa Yoga effect still shows in their lives.

Here is Donald Trump’s Vedic birth chart:

Donald Trump Rashi

(If you want to see his western astrology, look at my Post No. 1 on Donald Trump’s Astrology)

Above all, the effect of Kal Sarpa yoga can be to make the person divisive.  It can be associated with physical deformity or moral weakness, misfortunes, deceit and treason.

The positive qualities of this Yoga are that, the native can acquire a capacity to do arduous work, with exceptional success.  Moreover one can fulfill his desires of his life, either in the materialistic concept or in the spiritual scope.

But it is noted for its capacity for divisive ranting.

The important thing is that divisiveness in politics never leads to good results. It leads to scapegoating of minorities and ethnic outsiders.

The role of the political leader must ideally be to seek to unite the people in the nation. And to seek to maintain good relations with nations abroad (though not of course with surrender of national autonomy or defence).

If the US is to elect Donald Trump with this Yoga in his Vedic birth chart, it would be something like electing Mussolini. And with possible similar consequences.

Since the Nodes of the Moon are associated with Karmic attributes, the yoga inflicts certain restrictions over a natal chart. It expresses karmic nemesis.

This does not mean to say that the native cannot work with the divisiveness and poison that is inherent in Kal Sarpa Yoga in their birth chart, but if the needed perception is not gained, and if healing and empowerment work is not done, then we have a nation at war with itself – and others.

The British Prime minister, Margaret Thatcher had Kal Sarpa Yoga in her birth chart!

A big problem for Kal Sarpa Yoga people is that they are subject to mood-swings and they can be prone to blame other people for this: Projection, denial and scapegoating!
This is because half the month while the Moon is going round the heavens, the Moon is inside the Nodal axis and is experienced as linked to the other planets in the birth chart (some benefic, some malefic).
But the other half of the month the Moon is moving out on a limb. The Moon is unsupported by the planets in the native’s birth chart (all of which are the other side of the natal axis).
An unsupported Moon is not easy for our Minds. People with Moon unsupported in their birth chart experience all sorts of fluctuations of mind.

Donald Trump Astrology: from Michael Conneely. Post No. 1 – The Megaphone

Michael burnsall crop bestI have decided to put out a number of posts about the astrology of Donald Trump: what his western and Vedic astrology reveals about his nature – and what his astrology reveals about his chances of winning the US Presidential Election

In this first post, I look at what is revealed by the ‘chart aspect shapes’ in Donald Trump’s western astrology birth chart.

Here is Donald Trump’s western astrology birth chart created by the Astrocalc computer program. This is a very good program which I use in all my worldwide readings and courses:
Donald Trump Astrocalc natal wheel

Now, secondly, here is Donald Trump’s western astrology birth chart created by the psychodynamic astrology program Megastar.
I use psychodynamic astrology in all my worldwide readings and course: no astrology reading is complete without it.
I also use Vedic Astrology, which is awesomely accurate and sure in its declaration in the hands of a trained astrologer, but I do feel it is actually incomplete unless the psychodynamic astrology of the client is also added in and fully taken into account. Modern westerners are, after all, intensely psychological beings:
Donald Trump Huber natal

This program draws the chart with strict orbs and beautiful colour coding, but it can not include the crucial Chiron analysis. I use this program for many purposes, natally and predictively, but the purpose of this first blog post about Donald Trump is to reveal what his chart aspect shapes tell us about the way his psychology is set up to work.

And it may not come as a complete surprise to you to hear that he has a chart shape in his birth chart called a Megaphone!!! Here, thirdly, is his Megaphone chart aspect shape:
Donald Trump Megaphone

What does a megaphone do? We speak quietly into the narrow end and our voice suddenly fills the room. We speak loudly into the narrow end and the result is …. Donald Trump.

The extremely pointed shape, resembling a paper dart or a wedge, stands out. It makes the figure is very dynamic and lightning fast, whilst seeming often to remain fairly calm and together.

It can be a very manipulative figure: At one end of the Megaphone chart aspect shape there is a planet that can direct its abilities towards an objective in a three-coloured, i.e. intelligent, way, for example to manipulate others or to get them to do what he thinks is correct and important. I do so despair of trying to keep good communication with manipulative people. See my blog post about power stealers: https://blog.starwheelastrology.com/2013/10/24/the-need-to-have-and-hold-your-own-personal-power-on-the-spiritual-path/

But, of course, not everyone who has a Megaphone chart aspect shape in their birth chart uses their powers for ill!

Shamanic Journeying, Runes and Ogham: The whispering of your soul

Michael burnsall crop bestThe imagery that comes to our mind during shamanic journeying is so important.

I feel we should never lightly turn aside or disregard an image that arises, even if it seems incongruous or culturally different or unexpected.

Normally there is deep truth in our journey imagery, as there can be in our dreams.

So often journey imagery is the whispering of our soul to us.

So often it is our unconscious raising crucial suppressed material to our awareness for us to act upon and transform our consciousness and our lives.

If we listen, it means we can fly, we can compose, we can heal, we can empower …………

I use shamanic journeying to teach worldwide the runes and the ogham, see: www.druidforestschool.com  and   www.rune-path.com
