Inheritance in the Vedic Astrology Birth chart

Inheritance in the Vedic Astrology Birth chart

InheritanceWhat are your life-script for the issue of Inheritance?  Using the Sidereal Zodiac, Vedic Astrology is always very sure and accurate in its declaration. Here is a summary of the analysis technique to be used:

8th House: The 8th House in the Vedic birth chart indicates inheritance and money that comes through others. The ruler of the 8th House will not bring money, but planets occupying the 8th House can indicate money through inheritance or marriage.

Combinations of the planets that rule the money houses will produce money. The source and manner of money acquisition depends on the Houses these planets occupy. If the combination occupies the 8th house natally this indicates predisposition for inheritance. Predictively inheritance is indicated by transit or it is activated by Dasa (Vedic Predictive period), money in these cases may come from inheritance or from others (e.g. partnership).

In terms of the wonderful 27-sign lunar zodiac of Vedic Astrology, the Nakshatras Purva Phalguni (ruler Venus) and Uttara Bhadrapada (ruler Saturn) indicate inheritance. Check if their Ruler or occupants are activated by transit or Dasa.

Friendship in your Birth Chart

Friendship in your Birth Chart

friendsFriendship in the Vedic Birth chart

Friendship is a crucial issue in all our lives. But what are your life-script for the issue of Friendship?  Using the Sidereal Zodiac, Vedic Astrology is always very sure and accurate in its declaration. Here is a summary of the analysis technique to be used:

11th House is the house of Socialization, friendship orientated to goals

3rd House is the house of friends in the sense of cooperative activities

2nd House is the house of close personal friends who we hold dear to us: Eating, talking, socializing.

Natally: for indication of your life scripts for each of these very different types of friendship, look at the ruler (and occupants) of these houses.

Predictively: For indication of how friendships and friendship issues will go in your life, look at activations of ruling and occupant planets of these three houses by transit or Dasa.

Nakshatras: In terms of the wonderful 27-sign lunar zodiac of Vedic Astrology, the Nakshatra Uttaraphalguni is very orientated to a network of friends. Check the standing of the ruler (the Sun) and occupants, and any predictive activation, for example transits to natal Sun and Sun Dasa/sub-periods.

Is Saturn closing on the Moon in your birth chart? If so read this good advice.

Is Saturn closing on the Moon in your birth chart? If so read this good advice.

love reaching outIn Vedic Astrology there’s a seven-and-a-half-year period as Saturn goes through the sign before the Moon in your birth chart; through the sign in your birth chart that the Moon actually occupied at the moment of your birth, and then through the sign after the Moon in your birth chart.

This is called Sade Sate in Vedic Astrology.

There are exception instances etc, or it’s made harder if Saturn actually conjuncts or opposes the Moon in your birth chart.

But generally speaking, this is a time like going down into a pit, then rising up out of the pit. You don’t start to rise up until Saturn has actually crossed your natal Moon. There’s an average of three and three quarters down into the pit the three and three quarters coming up out of it again.

So, it is so worth knowing if you are entering Sade Sate or if you are actually in Sade Sate now. And the key is to know the pitfalls, understand the timing and have a meditation approach that will raise you up out of being trapped in the mind scripts that are typical of the phase and genuinely help you develop an enlightened awareness to the feelings, to all the wrong concepts, to the stuckness,  the pride and to the blocks and downfalls. Helps is there!

The Vedic saying is that we are ‘cut off from God’s grace’ as we go down into Sade Sate. But actually it needs to be seen that this experience of seven and a half years has a ‘divine purpose’. The divine learning we can rise to or ignore is this: that we see ourselves standing in the light of our own strengths and weaknesses. Thus we see clearly the growth we need to make, or can be helped to see it.

Often there’s a death in the circle. Often there’s a big move of house. Usually there’s block after block.

But above all there’s the problem of bad company. So often I find people in Sade Sate are mixing with the wrong people, and receiving bad advice from the wrong people. And so often I see people in Sade Sate can tend to be proud or obdurate or non-flexible, so they just can’t see this nor admit it to themselves. They can be stuck in wrong concepts.

As a result they make the wrong decisions, they plan their business badly, they mishandle their spiritual path, they throw away opportunities, etc, etc. But all this is with the divine purpose that we see the limitations of our own abilities and scripts.

There will be unanticipated problems, maybe loss of position, maybe heavy loses, sickness, etc.

The second half is (ideally) more like the ‘hard road up’: the hard road up to better spirituality and success.

There’s a ‘lovely’ saying from one Vedic Astrology text book on my shelves: ‘Remember that the native is a rat and he will be offered a tasty food only to be trapped inside the cage. It’s the people who don’t, or don’t know how to work with Saturn’s energy, that seem to feel the most duress during the passages of Saturn.’

Basically you are in the end phase of Sade Sate now if your Moon in your birth chart is between about 24 Libra and 24 Scorpio in western astrology.
You are ‘in the bottom of the pit’ if your Moon in your birth chart is between about 24 Scorpio and 24 Sagittarius.
And you are starting Sade Sate now if your Moon is between 24 Sagittarius and 24 Capricorn.

In Vedic Astrology these three Moon positions are quite simply the three Vedic signs of Libra (ending phase), Scorpio (in the pit) and Sagittarius (starting the descent).

My readings are truly expert and combine Vedic and Western astrology. I teach courses in both western and Vedic astrology. In the readings and the courses I seek to bring the most skilled and enlightened perspective possible. I am caring and highly qualified. I look forward to sharing your journey with you.

Saturn - Lord Shani in Vedic Astrology

Saturn – Lord Shani in Vedic Astrology

When Saturn moves slowly: Feeling sad. Blocks. Don’t go in for drama or escapism. There’s need for perseverance and enlightened understanding.

This is easier said than done of course!

The key value of astrology is that it can bring the most sophisticated and accurate declaration.

It can also make a most accurate statement of timing: of how long a particular influence or energy will last.

One or two people report now they are feeling unaccountable moments of sadness. Some are even saying they feel like leaving their body now. There’s moments of tearfulness. This is the effect of Saturn now!

I feel the astrological signification of these feelings is that Saturn is moving slower and slower in the heavens now. Saturn’s velocity is reduced now. It’s close to zero, and it will reach zero on March 15th. Then it very, very slowly turns backwards or retrograde in the heavens for months. The slower a planet is, the stronger we feel its effects. And believe me: Saturn’s effects are really strong!

The point is we can handle our day all wrong if we don’t understand what this is all about. We can make really bad decisions. We can waste time wringing our hands and upsetting others.

The point is: we incarnate in this life to learn lessons. We incarnate so that our True Self which exists eternally can progress in its manifestation and exploration. We chose what we are to work with each life: what creative urges, what relationship lessons, what lessons around money and love. We also chose what hardships and blocks we are going to learn how to deal with and overcome. This is all for our own good. All our potentials and our challenges are of vast importance, even if they are not the ultimate truth that lies beyond the earthly realm.

As regards Saturn, the lessons we are faced with include steadiness, perseverance, not catastrophizing, holding firm to our path, even dealing with chronic dissatisfaction or even grief.

If we don’t recognise or understand Saturn’s lessons we reap the negative benefits of sadness and failure (all with hard-learning spiritual messages there for us); we can become proud and stuck and blind and deaf to the help that’s there.

However, if we do recognise and understand Saturn’s lessons, we make golden reaping. We develop sober golden wisdom and deep spiritual perception, even absorption and enlightenment. We can become the Rock of Ages for others. They may ignore what we are offering, but that’s not our fault – and the consequences are theirs. We radiate soberness, diligence and contentment.

Basically my partner and I meditate daily for an hour. We find that kundalini meditation (focus on the third eye to raise kundalini energy) dhyana (focus meditation) and receiving energies of enlightenment known in India as ‘shaktipat’ have helped us so much. This practise can enable you to observe the play of events and the sway of emotions and the chatter of the mind and the dramas of depression etc, without being sucked in.

And this spiritual path sits so well with the understanding of energies and events and also timing that astrology practised well can offer.

I seek to represent this in me astrology readings for you and in my courses. Both my readings and my courses combine western with Vedic Astrology.

I hope this blog post is of help.

Incidentally, at the same time as this challenge and sadness from very slow Saturn, there’s two planets retrograde or with backwards motion in the heavens now as well: Jupiter and Mercury. For more details see below. But the message of retrograde Jupiter is to get us to check out the value and correctness of our learning and spiritual systems and the appropriateness of any teacher or teachings we are being given. Retrograde Mercury forces us to communicate clearly and honestly. He exposes any IT issues we have not tied up efficiently. He teaches us to handle postage, communications and business correctly and well.

So it is quite a hard time with Saturn virtually stationary now and Mercury and Jupiter Retrograde.

Here is a bit more detail on the technicalities: You can easily check out the positons of all the planets using the charts and ephemeris (western and Vedic) on my monthly astrology pages on my Master Vedic Astrology Website: http://www.mastervedicastrology.com/astrology-2015.html

Saturn is almost stationary in the heavens now, and this continues until he turns retrograde only a degree further on from his present position on 15th March. So, Saturn right now, on 28th January 2015, is at 9 deg Vedic Scorpio. By 15th March 2015 he has only moved a degree forward, so Saturn turns Retrograde at 10 Vedic Scorpio. Saturn then continues to retrograde until 2nd August when he goes as far back in the heavens as 4 Vedic Scorpio, and he does not regain his pre-retrogradation position until 8th November 2015.

If you prefer this in terms of the western tropical zodiac, this means that Saturn right now is at 3 degrees Sagittarius. He turns retrograde on 15th March at 4 deg Sagittarius, and he retrogrades until 2nd August at 28 western Scorpio.

As regards the two retrograde planets now:

Jupiter is also retrograde from 09 Dec 2014 to 09 Apr 2015

And Mercury is retrograde from 21 Jan 2015    to   11 Feb 2015

Astrology and Spirituality, the value of our mundane self, the need to develop enlightened awareness

Astrology and Spirituality, the value of our mundane self, the need to develop enlightened awareness

Shiva NatarajaI hope it will be helpful if I post this very simple statement. Basically, I believe that the astrological interpretation/teaching of astrology can only be as good as his/her level of consciousness. In my readings and courses I seek to bring the most enlightened consciousness possible to the astrological declaration.

What I want to put out very simply is that I think astrology can do a consummate job of stating what might be called our incarnational life purpose. In Vedic Astrology, this declaration is centered on the position of the Nodes of the Moon in the Vedic birth chart, though in fact the position of every planet is a facet of our life purpose. The techniques of Vedic Astrology can be unbelievably powerful, sure and sophisticated.

I always add to this from our western astrology, Chiron analysis, the outer planets, charts aspect shapes, psychosynthesis, personal rays, transits, progressions, age progressions and nodal age progressions.

But what actually is our life purpose? Well, I believe it is the bundle of scripts, talents, creative urges, blocks and downfalls our soul chose to incarnate with this time.

It has to be realised this is not the ‘real you’. The real your, the true you, exists eternally. It existed before you were born in this incarnation and it will continue to exist after you die. But for this time your ‘True You’ chose certain parents, certain scripts in order to make the progress it needed in order to express its self fully and, ultimately, to share in the Divine Expression. And the chosen scripts can be very ‘fortunate’ or dire challenge, depending on what your soul chose in order to make growth.

So I reject astrology that is simple materialistic. But I also reject astrology that is world-denying and that states that our scripts, emotions, thoughts etcetera are ‘not real.

I believe we incarnate into a PARADOX where one the one hand we have an imperative to explore scripts and potentials, to manifest our creativity, to learn to love BUT on the other hand and simultaneously we also have to develop the level of consciousness that can simultaneously observe these scripts, thought, emotions etc and use them to develop enlightened consciousness, and understand them from the standpoint of enlightened consciousness: not to say they are not real.

Of course part of the PARADOX is that they are not real. The physical and psycho-mental realm that Hinduism terms Maha Maya is not the ultimate reality. But the physical and psychomental reality has a crucial real nature: namely because the relationship we learn to adapt to it is the reason we are here. We are not here to reject the potentialities that can be expressed so supremely well in our astrological birth chart. We are here to explore them AND at the same time develop enlightened consciousness towards and out of them.

Our creative urges are a valid and necessary finger pointing to God and if we have them they must be explored and valued for what they are. Our thoughts and conceptualisation can be a valid finger pointing to God. Our Emotions can be a door-way to enlightened realisation. It’s wrong to reject or devalue them. It’s wrong to say they are the end of the story.

This PARADOX is so well expressed in the image of Shiva Nataraja. Shiva’s dance is ringed by flame. Ecstatically dancing, he creates, maintains and destroys the universe. Imagine what it is like being a Shiva. Shiva’s dance is simultaneously wild, abandoned and yet incisive. And this is the crucial bit: his face is calm beyond belief, focused and serenely centred. It is in repose amid all the wild and swirling movement. Shiva dances new states of being into manifestation, through a landscape torn by paradox: by apparent paradox. Shiva is the god of paradox. We incarnate to learn from and share in Shiva and achieve the tantric unification of apparent opposites. We have to explore and work with our incarnational scripts, YET we have to develop the sublime consciousness that the divine face of Shiva Nataraja brings amid the whirl of our myriad creations.

Maya is the deluding material/mental world we live in. The enchantment of Maya is that this world is the necessary though unreal arena where we as bound souls can ultimately learn to progress and develop enlightenment. we need to develop enlightened awareness and enlightened use of the supreme vehicle of astrology. the supine figure Lord Shiva dances on is the Demon of Ignorance!
