Chiron conjunct Jupiter people can be a problem!

Jupiter 2Chiron Jupiter Aspects

With Jupiter having just turned retrograde in the heavens as I write, I wanted to write a post about the dangers of the aspect in the birth chart: Chiron conjunct Jupiter.

Chiron is our existential wound, in the healing of which we can become the healer of others. But I have felt real concern for people who have Chiron conjunct Jupiter. They are so over the top and ‘fizzy’ that they are in fact abusive of the feelings of other people who want to be more grounded or who are even feeling cautious. They are always trying to whip one up. They are always trying to sell one the ‘perfect deal’ which so often, sadly, turns out to be the poisoned chalice.

And when it comes to the spiritual path, they are either ungrounded and massively over-rate their guidance or often fairly low-grade psychism and glamours, or they flit from teacher to teacher. It is well-known in Vedic Astrology, that when Jupiter is in a difficult house or aspectation, he can actually behave like a full-blown malefic.

Here is a bit fuller information:

Jupiter conjunct Chiron can bring Messianic tendencies – the nature of your message being indicated by the houses/signs involved.

But the conjunction is often associated with intuition, even strong intuition. These people are great seekers after ever-elusive enlightenment, the panacea, universal truth, &c. they can go in for proselytizing. Excess. Fanaticism. Florid excess in the area indicated by sign/house. OR there can be suppression of spirituality (the reactive atheist).

Chiron Jupiter people have Big hopes/grandiose aspirations. Avoidance of the human aspect of the issues, here, can lead to great suffering. There’s the real Need to face our own shadow to be sure our aspirations aren’t the stuff of projection or denial. Our dream or ‘trip’ can escalate out of all proportion. The sense of mission might have to be sacrificed for experience of wholeness. The loss of the cherished mission or life purpose might be a key part of the life-journey. Repeated disillusionments might be key in discovery of inner spirituality.

The Chiron Jupiter conjunction can indicate a long search through perils and extremes. We might experience quests and journeys that are intensely productive – but their value will be dependent upon our ability to deeply reflect and philosophize on their meaning. Beware unprocessed life-material! Beware ungroundedness and losing our humanity. We might portray an over-compensatory optimistic or capable or all-knowing side, rather than let others see our pessimistic, moody, depressive side.

Chiron Jupiter people might enjoy taking risks or tempting fate. The wound of too much optimism. Or a wound to hope!

We might secretly feel special, favoured of the gods. And, indeed, we might actually have some extraordinary ‘saving grace’: some new factor might crop up when all else seems lost: it’s the ability to bounce back from illness and crises.

But Chiron is ultimately a special call to Healing. Chiron/Jupiter can signify, ultimately, the potential to teach others.

Jupiter 2Jupiter has gone Retrograde
Important news for people with Moon in Sagittarius, as Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and they are already in Sade Sate
Someone following my Vedic Astrology Course raised the issue of when planets become stationary during transits, and I replied to her comment saying that transiting planets could have direct, stationary or retrograde motion. There is deep material and spiritual meaning in each category. Importantly the slower the motion of a planet the more powerful its effect in our lives. A current aspect of this is that Jupiter has just turned retrograde at the very end of sidereal Cancer, and will remain so until April 2015, when it will become stationery and then will go direct again.
When a planet is retrograde, we are called to focus on its energy in a deliberate and inner way: introspection. Jupiter manifests his effects often in an indirect or devious way: so as to ensure opportunity for our spiritual learning. We have to pay more especial attention to the role of that planet in our consciousness, relationships and in our life.
As a special feature, in a woman’s chart: Jupiter is the indicator for Husband. Jupiter is also the indicator for children generally and eldest son in particular.
Jupiter defines our principles and philosophies and the things that inspire us. When he goes retrograde we reflect on our current teachings, inspirations and where they are taking us. Jupiter themes also refer to the hope and optimism we have for the future. So now there’s the risk of giving way to pessimism and disappointment. And Jupiter is also Guru: our teachers: are they right for us? In the ultimate sense, the impetus is for us to take responsibility and to ensure we promote our inner teacher, our inner expansion: our inner source of blessing.
