The Solar Eclipse of 10th May 2013 – What does it Mean in your Life?

eclipse solar 2The second eclipse of 2013 is on May 10th at 00.28 hours. It’s a New Moon, a Solar Eclipse. Here are a few thoughts about this eclipse.

This eclipse is at 19 Taurus in western astrology or 24 Aries in Vedic astrology. It’s a Solar Eclipse, so the Sun is conjunct the Moon. See charts at the foot of this Blog post.

Eclipses are the undamming of dammed up energy, and they are associated with earthquakes, tsunamis and increased volcanic activity at the Earth level. In our lives, we are particularly affected if an eclipse falls on one of the planets in our birth chart AND by the affairs of the House in our birth chart where the eclipse falls. The energy of the Sign the eclipse falls in is also important. Generally speaking the main understanding comes from Vedic Astrology, but western astrology gives the pointer of how we experience things more at the egoic or psychological level.

The last time an eclipse was at this degree of the Zodiac was on May 10, 1994. Please read through my thoughts below about the meaning of this present eclipses, but also think back to what you were doing around that date. How might you be building on that now? Is there any thread of common meaning or similar life-development theme? What are you ready to do now? What do you need to release so you can make a fresh start?

Eclipses are the most powerful transits we can experience. SIX in a row are underway:
 2013
Lunar Eclipse 25.4.13   at 19.57hrs  at 11.6 Libra
(western 5 Scorpio) (Sun opp Moon)
Solar Eclipse   10.5.13   at 00.28 hrs at 24 Aries     (western 19 Taurus) (Sun conj Moon)
Lunar Eclipse 25.5.13   at 04.25 hrs at 9 Scorpio   (Western 3 Sag) (Sun opposite Moon)
Lunar eclipse  18.10.13 at 23.37 hrs at 1 Aries       (Western 25 Aries )   (Sun opposite Moon)
Solar Eclipse     3.11.13 at 12.50 hrs at 17 Libra     (Western 11 Scorpio) (Sun conjunct Moon)
Lunar Eclipse 17.11.13 at 15.15 hrs at 1 Taurus     (Western 25 Taurus) (Sun opposite Moon)

Now to turn to the Eclipse of 10th may in more detail: Notice that there is a five planet pile up at one end of this Eclipse: Sun, Moon, Mars Mercury and Ketu (South Node of the Moon). Notice that at the other hand Rahu the North Node plus Saturn are transiting through Vedic/sidereal Libra.

Relationships axis: Because the sidereal sign axis of Libra – Aries is activated, this Eclipse gives yet more emphasis on relationship issues in your life. Rahu and Saturn are both transiting Vedic/sidereal Libra. There’s a huge emphasis being offered to humanity on the right place of Relationships, and this eclipse will be part of the undamming in your life to aid you to have the opportunity for better relationships and better understanding of the issues in what it is to relate.

If your relationships have wrong issues, this Eclipse will ‘burst the dam’ on the difficult feelings and help to offer you the chance to relate in a way that is better for you.

How do you know what to release? Consider who or what drains your energy, time, and resources. Ask yourself whether that situation, person, or belief empowers you. If you answer yes, then keep it. Let go of whatever does not empower you. Get good perception about your way of life as it affects your relationships. Commit where you should!

But of course you also have to look at the House the Eclipse falls in. What house in your Vedic birth chart is the Vedic/.sidereal sign of Aries. In my birth chart it’s the 10th House of career and standing in the world, so I expect there will be another (very positive) dam burst in this area, following on from the first eclipse of 2013 which was also on the 4th House – 10th house axis: Career – Home life.

But there’s also the past lives issue: The North Node represents the direction you are to move in life. The South Node signifies your past in this and prior lives. The nodes of the moon are part of an eclipse. In Vedic Astrology, the position of the Nodes of the Moon in your Vedic birth chart is the key to your incarnational life meaning. Ketu the South Node represents past lives/skills/issues. Rahu the South Node represents the obsessive direction of the push of your incarnational future in this life.

Now in my case, the Eclipse Rahu (North Node)  is transiting through sidereal/Vedic Libra, the sign in my Vedic birth Chart occupied by Ketu the South node at the moment of my birth. So the Nodes are reversed! This can be a time of turbulence because the node of the Future is impelling us to travel to our past lives, and indeed, because Saturn has also been transiting through Vedic/sidereal Libra since last November, Saturn has also transited across Ketu in my birth chart. I do feel this has been marked by past life skills arising: sudden changes of career and direction. In addition to my astrology work, I also launched distance learning courses on Ogham, the Runes and Shamanic Development as well as offering initiations into Munay Ki Shamanism. I have also published my third Amazon Kindle novel: Vision Holder Munay Ki, which is based on the Ogham as well as Munay Ki Shamanism. Certainly my ancestry is on the far West coast of Ireland. I therefore have a blood heritage of Celtic plus no doubt the Viking raiders. The novel has a very Irish theme. All this I feel represents past life material welling up.

The Lunar Sign an Eclipse falls in is important: This eclipse falls in the ferociously heavy Lunar Sign, or ‘Nakshatra’ of Bharani. Bharani is the second Nakshatra of the wonderfully powerful Vedic 27-sign lunar zodiac. It’s power animal is the Bull Elephant. Its symbol is the yoni or vagina, and its presiding deity is Yama, the God of Death. It is the constellation of the womb where new life comes into being.  It has to do with birth and transformation.  Birth and death belong together – there is no separation.  Each time we enter a new phase of our life, we conclude an old one.  The dying of the old is the logical consequence of the birth of the new.   The vagina welcomes the seed that makes new life possible and is the way through which new life comes into the world.  The sexual act is the foundation of the beginning of new life.  During an orgasm, one looses control.  For a little while the ego is dead and you are in immediate contact with the divine, the moment that conception takes place: the beginning of new life.  Bharani deals with birth and the protection of life.  The transformation processes connected to this constellation, however, can be violent ! We do need to bring the child like authenticity of the eclipse’s sign: Aries, but we do need to balance this with committed relationship.

Jupiter and Venus are conjunct. Now and for the next few weeks the Jupiter-Venus conjunction in Taurus is beneficial materially and on all levels. Both planets are special Teachers. Check the House in your Vedic Birth Chart to understand in what areas of your life Jupiter and Venus will break through.

The Eclipse of 25th April 2013 is very powerful especially if you are a Vedic Cancer Rising Person (Most Leo Risers in western astrology)

Michael Web Photo 6 smileWe do have a very powerful confluence and build up in this eclipse. Incredible power is being brought together. The eclipse chart is at the foot of the Blog. You can contact me for expert readings that combine western and Vedic astrology: birth chart, Prediction and Relationship, and my western and Vedic on-line certificated astrology courses as well.  See my website: www.earthstarweb.com.
This posting is a very in-depth study of the power of the eclipse. See the other two less technical blogs I have posted as well. This is a technical blog. It is probably most suited to those with some knowledge of Vedic astrology. Please note that my Readings are much more user-friendly and easily explained than this!!!
Eclipses bring things that don’t usually happen: for good or ill. Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic activity, breakthroughs and course re-directions. One-off unusual events. Unusual developments.
I am writing this Blog to share the fact that Cancer rising signs (using the Vedic sidereal zodiac) are especially affected by all eclipses because Moon rules the sign of Cancer. In the western zodiac therefore, these are mostly Leo Risers. I am a Vedic Cancer riser, so I thought it would be especially interesting to share all about what this eclipse can unleash: for good or ill.
Note that for Vedic Cancer Risers, the Moon is lord of 1st House (because Moon rules Cancer). And note that in Vedic Astrology the 1st House is exceptional in that it is both a trine house (trikona) AND it is also an angle house (Kendra).
In this particular eclipse, Saturn and Rahu (North Node) are both transiting through Vedic Libra.
So, in this particular eclipse, the eclipsed Moon as ruler of the 1st House (which trinal and angular) is in Vedic Libra which is an angle house (4th). So here in itself we have a trinal and angular combination. A trine Lord in an angle House forms a Raja Yoga (see below).
BUT ALSO NOTE, most importantly, that this eclipse’s Moon in Vedic Libra, as Lord of a trine house (1st) is ALSO conjunct Saturn. Now, Saturn rules 7th House (Capricorn) for Cancer Risers. So in this eclipse we have the Lord of the 1st (trikona), the Moon, joined to the Lord of the 7th (Kendra) Saturn. This is the powerful combination known in Vedic Astrology as Raja Yoga.
Note that when the lord of a trinal house conjoins (or is otherwise aspected by) the lord of an angular house it is the powerful Raja Yoga. Any time Rahu is in an angle house with a trinal ruler it forms a Raja Yoga.
And we have also to remember that Saturn is exalted in Vedic Libra.

So we do have a very powerful confluence and build up here. Incredible power is being brought together in the chart of a Vedic Cancer Rising person (like me). For all Vedic Cancer risers, the 4th House – 10th House axis is being activated massively (4th House is MATRA, House of the Mother, Intelligence, Home life, Fixed assets, Heart,  Conveyances, roots and root teachings, roots, emotional integrity. 10th House is RAJYA, House of Profession    Career, Livelihood, standing in the world, Accomplishment of spells, Attainment of results, Honour, Glory, renown).
And note that in this eclipse, the 10th house, which is Vedic Aries, has the eclipse Sun in it AND under the rules of Vedic Astrology Sun is EXALTED in Aries. So it’s powerful activation of home and career issues for a Vedic Cancer riser person (most of western Leo rising) AND Mars is conjunct the eclipse Sun in Aries, so we have another Raja Yoga here in the 10th house too, because Mars for a Cancer Riser rules the Scorpio 5th (trinal) and the Aries 10th (angle) and it’s in an angle: the 10th (angular)!!!!!
Why is this so powerful? Well, Kendra (angle) houses are houses of action and trikona (trine) houses are houses of good fortune.
When action and good fortune join forces such as in a raja yoga, prosperity abounds.
When there is good fortune but no action, nothing will happen. Action without good fortune is not very fruitful either. Good fortune is not enough; there must be action as well in order to achieve something, and that is the secret of the raja yoga.
The secret of Raja Yoga is the combination between good fortune (trikona houses) and action (kendra houses).
BUT ALSO NOTE THAT Rahu (the north Node) is part of the 4th house raja yoga because it is transiting in the Libra 4th House and is therefore conjunct Moon and Saturn. This brings in the hand of the person’s incarnational destiny.
And note also that Ketu (the South Node) is part of the 10th house Raja Yoga, because Ketu is also transiting through the Aries (conjunct eclipse Sun, Mars and Venus). It’s massive!!!

As a footnote to this Blog, please note that Cancer is one of those Vedic Ascendants where a malefic can be a raja yoga planet.  For Vedic Cancer and Leo ascendants, Mars is the raja yoga planet. So even if we have a weak Mars in our birth chart, it can be strengthened. We can support a malefic if it is a raja yoga planet if it is weak in the horoscope. But even then, we have to be careful. We must never forget that whenever we support a malefic, we are playing with fire.

The Lunar Eclipse of April 25th 2013 – More Detail

Please see my full report on this Lunar Eclipse posted yesterday. This Blog is posted just to give a micro-detail summary and to show the actual spatial arrangement of the Sun, Moon and Earth that is involved in a Lunar Eclipse.
Because this is a Lunar Eclipse, the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon. This is a most important line-up for each one of us because the Earth is our body, the Moon is our Emotions/Mind/Consciousness, and the Sun is our Soul (our individual spark of Jiva Atman). And so the Eclipse makes us feel dreadful if these three are not aligned in our lives! and earthquakes and tsunamis occur in our lives which could jolt us back into alignment. Because the eclipsed Moon is in Vedic Libra, we are called to get the way we relate right. But because the eclipsed Sun is in Vedic Aries, we are called to get the way we assert our individuality right. It’s all about good and wholesome balance in accord with our soul needs for this incarnation. Too much of the Sun in Aries and maybe we are the terrorist hurling bombs. Too much of the moon in Libra and maybe we are giving away our personal power and strength. I believe the fact that Saturn and Rahu (North Node) are also in Libra means that there is a real focus for humanity, for each one of us to get the issues of relationship right at this time. Saturn and Libra conjoined is a real powerful focus. Of course Vedic Astrology also has its wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac and the eclipsed Moon is in the Vedic Lunar Sign (Nakshatra) called Swati, which is all about scattering our seeds and our gifts, but the scatter must come from a sound centre, not be driven scatter. And Swati is all about commerce and deal-making, so the eclipse could wake us up to that principle in our life. Are we adequately valuing ourselves and others in our transactions?

The Eclipses of 2013 : part 1

aquarius 3We are coming up to the Eclipses of 2013

On Thursday 25th April 2013, we experience the first of the five eclipses of this year. It’s a Lunar Eclipse: Sun opposition Moon.
The Sun is at 5 Taurus in western Astrology (that’s11 Aries in Vedic Astrology). The Moon is at 5 western Scorpio (that’s 11 Libra in Vedic Astrology).

There’s a huge pile-up of planetary energies: The eclipse Sun is conjoined by Mars, Venus and the South node of the Moon (Ketu); the eclipse Moon is conjoined by Saturn, North Node (Rahu) and the Ascendant of the eclipse chart.

Typically, because the eclipse is caused by a shadow passing across the Sun or the Moon, it is taken as an indication of negative events, suggesting problems for particular countries, leaders, or some aspect of world politics.

On the other hand, eclipses can also be used for individuals’ lives. The astrological house in which the eclipse takes place will usually become sensitized for up to 6 months. If the eclipse falls near the same degree as a planet in the person’s natal chart then it affects that planet and everything it symbolizes in the chart. If the eclipse falls on the persons natal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or ruler of the Ascendant, then it will have a powerful effect.

Sometimes a clear and tangible event occurs on an Eclipse that changes your life completely. Other times you don’t realise until later what occurred that altered the course of your life in some way. Sometimes the experience of the eclipse energies, although disorientating, triggers an inner healing. You can’t avoid the eclipse experience, and you can’t know in advance what the experience will be exactly, but eclipses do give us a push to put our life more on the right direction, and we can see often what is going on and that helps make the change that’s needed. Maybe we feel fear, but fear can’t stop us going through the eclipse mill. Eclipses make us connect with parts of ourselves we didn’t feel ready to connect with earlier. Sometimes this comes in the form of loss, other times an unexpected gain, but they always leave you with a gift in one way or other.

Solar Eclipses occur at the New Moon. Lunar Eclipses occur at the Full Moon.
Solar Eclipses (New Moon) often manifest external events, opening the door to a new chapter. Lunar Eclipses (Full Moon) are more wrenching and emotional. Lunar eclipses are powerful for releasing old, subconscious, self-sabotaging thoughts, beliefs, habits and patterns and they are often associated with loss and letting go: can be sad; can be release and relief!

Eclipses normally occur in pairs (Solar + Lunar) but the Eclipse of April 2013 is different: two Lunar Eclipses on either side of the Solar. This means a lot of wrenching change, deep flows of feeling and opportunity for emotional healing will be felt over the next month, either through the House the eclipses fall in, or, especially, if they conjunct a planet in your birth chart or your ascendant. If you aren’t impacted directly, it is likely that someone around you will be.

Because we know we are in an Eclipse period, this gives us the chance to see and understand what is going on, to perceive that it’s not random chaos or upheaval, that it is actually soul shifting, balance re-creating transformation.

Knowing when eclipses were due to appear was a central ancient forte of astrologers.

But before we talk any further about this first eclipse, here is the eclipse summary for the year:

2013
Lunar Eclipse 25.4.13   at 19.57hrs  at 11.6 Libra (western 5 Scorpio) (Sun opp Moon)
Solar Eclipse   10.5.13   at 00.28 hrs at 24 Aries     (western 19 Taurus) (Sun conj Moon)
Lunar Eclipse 25.5.13   at 04.25 hrs at 9 Scorpio   (Western 3 Sag) (Sun opposite Moon)
Lunar eclipse  18.10.13 at 23.37 hrs at 1 Aries       (Western 25 Aries )   (Sun opposite Moon)
Solar Eclipse     3.11.13 at 12.50 hrs at 17 Libra     (Western 11 Scorpio) (Sun conjunct Moon)
Lunar Eclipse 17.11.13 at 15.15 hrs at 1 Taurus     (Western 25 Taurus) (Sun opposite Moon).

Eclipses are vastly influential. They un-dam dammed up energies. On the worldly level they are associated with tsunamis and earthquakes. On our personal level, they can trigger great change. This will be either immediate or after a delay when some later transit will trigger the discharge of huge stagnant energy created.

How you will experience this undamming of energy depends on where you are at. If you have an eclipse on your first house moon, this could well make you even more ‘me-first’.  If the eclipse falls on your Jupiter, you could be in for a big period of expansion – but be careful to stay grounded and not over-expand in one area to the detriment of other areas of your life.

Vedic Astrology has a wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac as well as the familiar 12-sign sun-sign zodiac. The lunar signs are called Nakshatras and they are such a powerful guide, such a magical guide to how you will manifest the energy of any planet of yours that falls in them in your birth chart. This eclipse falls in the Lunar Sign called Swati, whose power animal is the male buffalo. So the few days before or after the eclipse, everyone may have to be careful not to be scattered, because Swati is an Air sign. Stay grounded, committed and in your routine. Saturn will be in conjunction with this eclipse in Swati nakshatra, pointing to obstructions and delays and the need to tie up loose ends from the past so that you can practise the great virtue of letting go, just as serpent sheds his skin so he can be reborn. There’s a great need for patience and perseverance, starting anew in a more ethical way, especially as Saturn is in the middle of a long retrograde period at this eclipse. But above all, Swati is about commerce and doing deals, so an eclipse on your planet in Swati may well mean something to do with commerce or selling in your life.

But what if you have a planet caught up in this eclipse??? in Swati lunar sign if you are looking at your Vedic Astrology, or in Ashwini lunar sign opposite where the Sun of the eclipse is???

Well, this eclipse exactly conjuncts my Nodes of the Moon: Rahu the North Node in Ashwini and Ketu the South Node in Swati, and much of the rest of the eclipses of 2013 do the same, so this eclipse will have very big effects for me, as the Nodes of the Moon are the key to our incarnational destiny: why are you here? But Mercury in my birth chart is also exactly caught up in the eclipse (at its best this could signify undamming of blocked communication: flowering of communication), and my Sun too is conjunct the Eclipses (by an orb of 5 degrees (if negative could mean great harm, but I believe it will be positive: I will ‘come into my own’.

The Eclipse of June 4th 2012

The Eclipse of June 4th 2012

Here is the Vedic astrology chart for the second eclipse of 2012, the Lunar Eclipse of 4th June 2012, 11.11hrs.

(The Western astrology chart of the June 4th Eclipse is below.)

The Full Moon is in sidereal (Vedic) Scorpio for this eclipse. This full Moon cycle actually started, as is always the case, in the sign opposite: the New Moon in Taurus.

So we now have upcoming Full Moon eclipsed in Taurus – Scorpio. The Moon is debilitated in sidereal Scorpio , because Scorpio is the resistant sign of aggressive Mars-ruled restless conflicted driven clutching energies covering deep held and maybe intractable even denied phobias and fears: the depths of the fixed water element.
Basically Scorpio tries to protect himself emotionally rather than heal and recognise the held painful fears, so Scorpio therefore becomes negative and vindictive: a torturer.
Scorpio is opposite Taurus. Scorpio fears and knows that the solid structures can die.
This eclipse will be hard if you have planets in sidereal Taurus (where the eclipse Sun is) or planets or Ascendant in sidereal Scorpio (where the eclipse Moon is).
Eclipses are about undamming stuck or held energies. They are of course definitely associated with earthquakes and tidal waves at the Earth level.
N.B. They affect individuals depending on where the individual has planets in his natal chart and indeed which planet the eclipse falls on: if its Jupiter or Venus, the eclipse can have favourable effects. If it’s a good house of someone’s natal chart that the eclipse falls in, then the effects can be positive liberation and undamming: the eclipse in someone’s 11th house. If it’s the 8th House the eclipse falls in in your chart, this can be terrible y destructive. If your ascendant is eclipsed, this is traditionally said to mean harsh impact. Scorpio fears the worst and attacks accordingly!!!!

The Moon’s nature is changeability so this tears at Scorpio’s fixity.

It is right that our  Moon nature experiences feelings, because that is one of the way we experience our environment and learn to evaluate it, our emotions are very much needed if we are to live, feel and grow.

But the call is to ‘manage’ our emotions. This does NOT mean deny our emotions, it means we have to learn to be able to control them.

I feel my upbringing meant that I could not know what I actually felt for years, then I began to become able to get in touch with them – but now the challenge is to be able to appropriately control them as well.

Of course we are also called to know what lies in the depths of our consciousness, beneath the surface currents, waves and tidal waves of feelings, because this subconscious material is so often surfacing so as to manifest as feelings, the real origin and nature of which are often not recognised or not understood, od denied or projected on to others.
The unconscious does need to become conscious and then healed so that we can be in charge of our destiny.

Meditation and ritual can of course stabilise the emotions. Shamanic Journeying can raise material from the depth, but if we simply suffer the uprising emotions without recognising their source, we can rage or become depressed or ‘project’ onto others.

Scorpio individuals (e.g. Moon, Sun or Ascendant in sidereal Scorpio) are of course famed for turning relationships in to a hell realm, but remember: although the lower Scorpio is the sign of the scorpion, the sign of the higher Scorpio is the eagle. We are called to become the eagle and leave behind the stinging Scorpio. The eagle soars above the murky and seething ground level phenomena. The true divine nature of the Scorpio Moon is actually devotion and focus. Scorpio at its highest penetrates illusions of human society, relationships and economy so as to bring out what is more truly real.

Note that the Eclipse of June 4th is the second of the four eclipses of 2012, all of which massively activate the sidereal sign of Taurus (Fixed Earth) , which is the sign of the body, materialism and value. Here are the eclipse dates:

Eclipses 2012.

(Times are approx and geographically vary; charts for these appear below)

Solar Eclipse    20.5.12   at   23.47 hrs   at  6 Taurus (western 0 deg Gemini)

Lunar Eclipse    4.6.12     at 11.11 hrs 21 Scorpio (western 14 Sag)

Solar Eclipse    13.11.12 at 22.8 hrs at 28 Libra (western 21 Scorpio)

Lunar Eclipse  28.11.12 at 14.46 at 12 Taurus (western 6 Gemini)

A huge concentration of planets has just formed in the sidereal sign of Taurus. It started around the first of the eclipses on May 20th. I know one woman who has her Sun at the end of sidereal Taurus (a western Gemini Sun) who had a stroke on the afternoon of the eclipse. I know a couple of people whose mothers went through tough mental or physical episodes when the eclipse hit those person’s natal Moons.

The upcoming, second, June 4th eclipse occurs after the usual difficult eight day a month period when the Moon transits over three malefic planets in a row: Mars, Saturn and Rahu (North Node), an eight day occurrence that happens once every lunar month for much of this year. The present upcoming 8-day period that precedes the June 4th eclipse starts 30.5.12. This eight day period can, of course, cause great mental irritation, restriction and torsion for those people who have relevant planets in the range of sidereal signs: Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio. Other people won’t be so problematically affected.

The Moon is in Libra before the eclipse, so lots of relationship issue will rise. Try to work through them positively and gently!!! There will be a big energy here, because of course, Libra is ruled by Venus, which also rules Taurus where the eclipse is, AND VENUS IS RETROGRADE until the end of June, in the sign of Taurus, so this retrogradation will be powerful (Venus retrograde in own sign) and RETROGRADE VENUS MAKES US CRITICAL OF OUR RELATIONSHIPS.

So we need to be very careful about the way we manage our feelings at the time of this lunar eclipse and the preceding eight day period. Because its’ a full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse  its effects will be felt pretty well instantaneously, as opposed to the often slower acting consequences of the first (New Moon) Solar Eclipse on May 20th. Rahu, the north Node, conjuncts the Moon at a Full Moon, and remember Rahu’s nature is obsessive torsion, full of hidden or unreal fears and mass events. The problem is that Rahu and Scorpio BOTH have a quality of imagined fears: so beware imagined fears!!!

THE ISSUE OF VALUE WILL ARISE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FOR NATIONS, BECAUSE THERE ARE FIVE PLANETS AT ONE END OF THE ECLIPSE IN SIDEREAL TAURUS. But – Ketu (South Node) is in Taurus dissolving things: dissolving them for a spiritual purpose, and then at the other end of the eclipse is the furies of Rahu and Moon eclipsing in Taurus. The issue of value will arise. At the personal level: Do we undervalue ourselves? At the National level: Is wealth divided wrongly in our nation. Is the wealth of our nation real or illusory paper money or based on unreal property values? Spiritually: Are we pursuing illusory things that have no real value to us? Are we being greedy?

Lastly we need to note that the lunar sign or Nakshatra that the eclipsed Moon falls in is Jyestha. Jyestha is a very sharp energy. It’s ruled by Indra and is about conquering and leadership. It’s angry and controlling but can hold a family or organisation together.

Here is the western astrology chart of the 4th June 2012 eclipse:

The Effects of the Eclipses of 2012 on United Kingdom, Greece and Spain

The Effects of the Eclipses of 2012 on United Kingdom, Greece and Spain – In this blog I point out that the four eclipses of 2012 all fall on very sensitive parts of the charts for the United Kingdom, Greece and Spain.
These indicate shock, surprises and loss of jobs for the UK, some sort of meltdown for Greece, and a blow to the Government and roots of the Spanish nation.
The conclusion at the end of this blog defines what I believe is the actual energy and meaning of this eclipse cycle for nations.

From the time of Ptolemy, the Hellenistic Egyptian father of western astrology onwards, an eclipse on the ascendant of one’s chart has been considered to have a major effect, and, indeed an unfavourable effect.

There are four eclipses in 2012, and they are right on the Ascendant of the chart for the United Kingdom!! This does not look too good.

The chart for the United Kingdom is best taken to be the chart for the Glorious Revolution when the Catholic James II was deposed and a group of nobles invited William and Mary to rule Britain (source for nation charts: Nicholas Campion, The Book of World Horoscopes): February 23rd 1689 at 10.00am, London.

There now follows the western astrology charts for the first two of the four eclipses of 2012: the Solar Eclipse occurring 20th May and the Lunar Eclipse for the 4th June, and then the chart for the UK so you can see what I mean:

1. Chart for solar eclipse of 20th May 2012:

2. Chart for Lunar Eclipse of 4th June 2012:

3. Chart for the United Kingdom:

You can clearly see that the ascendant for the UK is 5 deg Gemini.

The South Node, called Ketu in Vedic Astrology, which eclipses the Sun and the Moon in chart 1 the Solar eclipse of 20th May, is also at 5 deg Gemini !!!!!!!

The South Node – North Node axis which eclipses the Moon in chart 2 the Lunar eclipse of 4.6.2012 is also at 5 deg Gemini.

The UK ascendant is hit by these eclipses. Normally an eclipse on the ascendant is a big shock or harm.

There’s a bit more to it than that. Saturn is now retrograding toward South Node, called Ketu in Vedic astrology, and is on station at 28.43 sidereal Virgo, conjunct the UK’s Ketu at 26.2 Sidereal Virgo. This is before Saturn goes direct again and re-enters sidereal Libra to conjunct UK’s natal Saturn at 17.28 sidereal Libra on 4th December 2012. Saturn transiting conjunct Ketu is a malefic transit meaning shocks and surprises and, in a person’s chart, such things as losing one’s job and problems in professional life.

Now, let’s extend the study to look at the charts for Greece and Spain, and see how the eclipses affect them:

4. Chart for Greece in western astrology:

5. And here is the chart for Greece in Vedic Astrology:

6. Now here is the chart for the 20th May Solar Eclipse in Vedic Astrology:

Compare chart 5 Greece’s Vedic chart with chart 6 the solar eclipse’s Vedic chart. You clearly see that the Greek Nodal axis (Rahu to Ketu, is totally caught up on the middle of the eclipse of Sun conjunct moon conjunct Ketu. Indeed, with Ketu in Taurus in chart 5 the Greek chart, it could be argued that the present Greek State was born with a tendency for material meltdown and ‘ignoring its responsibilities’.

7. Here is the western astrology Chart for Spain:

8. And here is the Vedic chart for Spain:

If you compare chart 8 Spain’s Vedic chart to chart 6 the Vedic chart for the solar eclipse of 20th May, you clearly see that Spain’s Sun (= Government) and Mercury (=Commerce) are right on the nodal axis of the Eclipse, namely under the eclipse Rahu or North Node.

Moreover, if you compare the chart for the lunar eclipse of 4th June shown below as chart 9, to Spain’s natal chart you clearly see the lunar eclipse’s eclipsed Moon and Rahu sitting on Spain’s Sun and Mercury in the country’s roots indicated by its 4th House.

9. Vedic astrology chart for lunar eclipse of 4th June:

CONCLUSION

I believe the energy of the four 2012 eclipses brings a big shock to the nation of the UK and that the reverberations will follow with after-shocks and loss of jobs. Greece’s economy will go into some sort of meltdown, and Spain’s government will suffer as will the roots of the country.

So, what is the actual energy of these four eclipses?

Their dates are as follows:

After all, these eclipses pave the way for the Winter Solstice of 2012, where the Sun reaches Galactic Centre, a once in 26,000 years occurrence, where Galactic Centre is indeed seen in Vedic astrology as the centre and source of spiritual illumination in the confrontative death and rebirth lunar sign (Nakshatra) of Mula.

Well, I believe their energy is best summed up by their Vedic charts. Five planets come together in sidereal Taurus for the 20th May Solar Eclipse (see chart 6). Petty exceptional.

Jupiter in Taurus is about Greed. Presumably part of the greed was borrowing against inflated and unreal value of houses and properties. Borrowing where there are inadequate covering assets.

Retrograde Venus at this time is about deep reflection on the values of Taurus, the sign Venus rules, which is of course the sign of very material things.

Ketu, the South Node, in Taurus will reject the Taurean material qualities in favour of spiritual understanding of them.

I FEEL THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT MATERIAL CRISIS WHICH WILL OFFER THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A MORE SPIRITUAL VIEW ON MONEY AND THE USE AND DISTRIBUTION OF MONEY.

I have just read that the leader of the Greek Opposition, who is standing in the General Election of June 17th to lead the country in a few days’ time, rejects the austerity package demanded by Germany and the EU, wanting instead more social justice and exit from the Euro to achieve this.

Polls show rising support for Syriza, 37yr old Alexis Tspiras’  hard left coalition adamantly opposed to the terms of the bailout package and committed to wholesale renegotiation. Syriza is now in second place with 20.4pc of the vote in one poll and 19.6pc in another. He is said to hold the fate of the Euro in his hands. Even if he does not win, will the richer countries of the EU show more leniency to the mass of the people? What will happen? Can people be put before profits???
